Dealing with People Who Don’t Like You
Q. I am quite sure that not everyone likes you and you know that. So how do you deal with knowing that?
A. I guess it would be important to know if you are talking about casual acquaintances or a about whether a person would like you for their good friend. Every brain is different and Emotional Intelligence would say that likely no brain really “likes” every other brain on the planet. I’m sure you don’t. How do I deal with knowing that? You can’t very well ask someone else to do something that you don’t do, i.e. like everyone. I suppose the easiest answer is the one Charles Schulz, creator of the comic strip “Peanuts” wrote. In the words of Snoopy: “I don’t have time to worry about people who don’t like me. I’m too busy loving the people who love me.”
