I love good food: odors, tastes, textures, almost endless options, cherished memories—the whole experience. No doubt some of that comes from my little French grandmother, who (we joked in childhood) could make cardboard taste amazing!
Life and socialization revolve around food in families, cultures, and countries everywhere on this planet. No surprise, food plays a vital role in keeping you healthy and well, including the billions of neurons in your brain, spinal cord, heart, and gastrointestinal system. The quality of the food you eat—including what, when, how much, the way it is prepared, and the environment in which it is eaten—impact your health and longevity. It matters!
Recommendations proliferate on the benefits of moving toward Mediterranean-style of eating and my health has improved as I have embraced a plant-based cuisine. Healthful eating is about making healthier substitutions rather than deprivation. As I go through my recipe box of favorites, it is rewarding to find that most of them can be tweaked quite successfully by using some healthier substitutions.
By request I began posting some of these recipes on the website. Try them and feel free to tweak them with your favorite herbs and seasonings. The sky is the limit for healthier eating, and it can make a significant difference in your potential wellness and longevity.
