chef cartoon 1This is good all-purpose seasoning that can be used in soups, gravies, entrées, and you name it.

After making a batch, store it in a glass container with a tight top.

When using this seasoning in recipes, avoid holding the container over steaming food as the seasoning may take on moisture and become caked. Use a measuring spoon to dip the seasoning out of the container. A wide-mouth is helpful to accommodate a measuring tablespoon.

Ingredients

  • 1½ cups nutritional yeast flakes (Avoid confusing this with brewer's yeast flakes)
  • 3 Tbsp onion powder
  • 2 Tbsp Italian seasoning
  • 2 Tbsp dried parsley flakes
  • 2 Tbsp Himalayan or sea salt
  • 3 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • 1 tsp celery seed *

Preparation

Place all ingredients in a blender. Blend until very smooth.

Mix well. Store in a glass container or BPA-free plastic container with secure wide-mouth lid.

Use

Can be used in any recipe that calls for chicken-style seasoning or any recipe that you want to have mock-chicken seasoning as an ingredient.

* Celery is a very low calorie herbal plant. The stalks, leaves, roots, and seeds can all be used, the seeds providing a spice for cooking. Celery contains many vitamins and minerals. For example, one teaspoon of celery seed contains 8 calories, broken down as: 54% fat (0.5 g), 31% carbs (0.83g), and 15% protein (0.36g). It also contains 28 mg of potassium.
