Have you read the ingredients lately on some of the prepared salad dressings? Often there are substances ending in “ate” along with “high fructose corn syrup”—ingredients that you may be better off without.

My cousin Jim has been experimenting with salad dressings. I tasted the precursor of this recipe on my last visit. I had three helpings of tossed salad—because the dressing was so good. Try it! Experiment with the amounts! Enjoy!

Ingredients

  • ½ cup balsamic vinegar
  • ½ cup ripe raspberries
  • 1-2 tsp sweetener (e.g., mild honey, real maple sugar)
  • 2 Tbsp chopped walnuts
  • Pinch of ground pepper

Preparation

Place all ingredients in a mixer and blend until smooth.

May add a Tbsp of water, if needed, to reach desired consistency.

Serve.

Refrigerates well in a tightly covered container.
