Arlene R. Taylor, PhD, is an internationally known author, speaker, and brain function specialist. She is founder and president of Realizations Inc., a nonprofit corporation that engages in brain-function research and in providing related educational resources. Current research makes it clear that everything starts in the brain and that knowing how to use yours by design is key to staying healthier and younger for longer.
Taylor authored the 38-module DSM-5 based Mental Health & Wellness program approved by CMS for use in Cognitive Centers. She also authored the online program Health, Wellness, & the Brain that is approved by the California BRN for CE Credit for nurses.
A recipient of the American Medal of Honor for Brain-Function Education from the American Biographical Institute Inc (#20/100, 2001), she was named alumna of the year 1989, by Loma Linda University Nursing Alumni Association.
Taylor holds two earned doctorates; has life membership in the National Registry of Who’s Who, 2000 edition; is a Diplomate with the National Christian Counselor’s Association; qualified for membership in Mensa International; and is a past member of the National Speakers Association.
Emerging knowledge about music and the brain led Taylor to coauthor Music on the Brain with Michael R. Hudson. They also have written the 8-book series Legends of the Wild. Through animal allegories the stories reveal the contribution that high Emotional Intelligence makes to achieving overall success in life—along with the consequences when EQ skills are low or absent.
