Your brain is your greatest resource—use it by design to help you achieve health, happiness, and success!

—Arlene R. Taylor PhD

Not long ago a piece of prose found its way into my e-mail’s inbox. It listed a number of items for one’s daily survival kit, along with applicable references from the Holy Bible. I thought it was quite clever and I would have enjoyed corresponding with the writer. Unfortunately it was credited to that famous author, Anonymous.

Nevertheless, it gave me food for thought. You might want to evaluate your survival kit, too. Do they contain these items?

TOOTHPICK - to remind you to pick out the good qualities in yourself and in others. People tend to live up to expectations. —Matthew 7:1

RUBBER BAND - to remind you to be flexible. Things might not always go the way you want, but they usually work out in the long run. —Romans 8:28

BAND AID - to remind you to heal hurt feelings, yours or someone else's. Unhealed they can become festering sores and contribute to illness. —Colossians 3:12-14

PENCIL - to remind you to jot down your blessings every day. If you can’t think of any, try doing something helpful for someone else. You’ll often get a huge blessing in the process. —Ephesians 1:3

ERASER - To remind you that everyone makes mistakes; it’s part of being human. The important thing is to be sure to learn from them. —Gen. 50:15-21

CHEWING GUM - to remind you to stick with your goals. With vision and willpower you can accomplish almost anything. —Philippians 4:13

MINT - to remind you that you are worth a mint. There is only one of you on this planet and there are contributions only you can make! —John 3:16-17

CANDY KISS - to remind you that everyone needs a daily kiss or a hug. Take responsibility for getting one and giving one every day. —1 John 4:7

TEA BAG - to remind you to relax daily and review your list of blessings. There is always someone else who has more difficulties than you do! —1 Thessalonians 5:18

It so happened that there were only nine items listed in this daily survival kit and somehow it seemed incomplete. Consequently, I added a tenth.

FOUR-LEAF CLOVER – to remind you to take your green stuff every day. Enerprime™ can help to keep you healthy and thinking positively! —3 John 1:2.
